Ashley Grant Joins the BLiS Family

We’d like to welcome Ashley Grant, the newest member of our extended BLiS family!

Ashley's culinary background and passion for all things BLiS are a natural fit. Ashley relocated to Grand Rapids after ten years in Chicago and looks forward to sharing recipes, food trends and much more! A little more about her…

Her love of food and cooking started early with Gertrude, her fiercely loving grandmother. While some children prefer to lick the bowl, Ashley’s preference was a stick of butter dipped in white sugar, a habit her grandmother was happy to support. And so began her first food memory and a craving for butter that has lasted well into adulthood…

Fast forward a bit to Polson, Montana where Ashley washed dishes in a kitchen at the Diamond Horseshoe, a local eatery similar to Cheers with a Western twist. Next stop, a culinary apprenticeship program in Vail, Colorado before she finally landed at the Culinary Institute of America. It was here that she pushed her way into Daniel Boulud’s kitchen in NYC, a brutal but inspiring introduction to high-performance culinary teams.

An interest in various kitchen cultures eventually led Ashley to Napa Valley where she helped a team open a small French bistro before becoming a private chef for a family winery in Rutherford, CA where she stayed before returning to the University of Montana.

Upon graduating from UM, Ashley tried her hand in the corporate sales world where she spent the last ten years. Nonetheless, Ashley’s kitchen roots have called her home and into our BLiSful arms!

We look forward to sharing her series of original BLiS recipes and articles in the coming weeks. Cheers!
