October BLiCHER Creature:
D and I met in Milwaukee while we were both teaching swimming lessons to little kids. The day we met I was actually heading out to Denver to visit old college roommates and she was contemplating moving there with her twin sister who was deciding between DU and ASU for grad school.
After hanging out for a few months in Milwaukee I moved out to Denver while she and her sister soon followed about 4 months later. After about a year of living in Denver we started dating and just two months ago we got hitched!
Back in the earlier part of 2015, I decided to take a crack @ a blog which is now The Flannel Axe. I've been involved in medical device sales and the IT industry for the past decade or so and needless to say it hasn't filled a void I've had to do something I loved and was passionate about.
So, not exactly sure of what I was doing but knowing I wanted to give it a shot I started The Flannel Axe. I wasn't sure of where I wanted to take it and I'm still not entirely sure but I've always told myself and anyone who reads my excerpts that it's a work in progress. An evolution. I love slapping up suggestions of music and writing about any and all things making sure I put a humorous twist to the story
We love Colorado and have no plans to leave....HOWEVER....We're both Midwest kids and will always call WI and MI home but as any Michigander will tell you (I am NO exception) my passion lies in the Mitten. I love what Grand Rapids and BLiS, in particular, are doing for the state. Putting it on the map as it should be! So I've not only enjoyed all of your products but spend any energy I can promoting the product. It really is magical.
So. On to the weekend we took off up to Aspen/Snowmass. I decided to bring along the BLiS and get to cooking some of my 'staples'. I chose the stuffed French toast and buffalo chicken pizza. They were both hits.
The trips up to the mountains started back when D and I were dating. We decided that every few months or so we'd pick a new mountain town we hadn't been to and go spend a few days there. It was actually in one of these towns (Telluride) where I proposed.
Something you also need to know is that CO has a little bit of the Grand Rapids itch as well. What I mean by that is that there are people here that are creative, innovative and excited to try the new and the good. BLiS more than fits the mold. And out here people are so health conscious it's almost a bit annoying. More and more folks are willing to grab the necessary ingredients required to cook a good, healthy meal vs the alternative of going out or ordering in.
So we're another pair of Midwesterners who headed to the Rockies. And I'm dropping BLiS product into anything we can think of. And every time we do people ask what we used in the food. You better believe we tell them. Hell, I even gave my groomsmen a bunch of BLiS sample bottles as part of their wedding gifts.
Are we ever going to open our own restaurant? Hell no! But we're not intimidated by trying new recipes or just cooking and finding out what works. BLiS makes it that much more simple with how good the product is. I'll be buying more soon! The cupboards are getting slim.
